UPDATE: Brad Paisley Doubles Down on Opposition to Proposed Data Center Near Nashville Zoo
Country music star Brad Paisley has shared a new update in his campaign against the proposed AI data center planned near the Nashville Zoo, saying the issue extends far beyond a single construction project.
In a new video posted on social media, Paisley said artificial intelligence is already transforming industries and eliminating jobs, warning that communities must pay closer attention to the rapid expansion of the infrastructure needed to support it. He stressed that the debate is not about opposing technology itself, but about making responsible decisions on where these massive facilities are built.
Paisley’s latest comments come just days after he urged fans to sign a petition opposing the proposed data center, calling the project an “absolute nightmare scenario” for the Nashville Zoo and the surrounding community. The proposal has since drawn widespread public attention, with hundreds of thousands of people signing a petition against the development.
The singer encouraged residents to stay informed and continue voicing their concerns, arguing that decisions made today about AI infrastructure could have lasting effects on local communities, wildlife, and future generations.

Details Behind The Proposed Project
The proposed data center near the Nashville Zoo has become a major point of controversy for residents in and around the city.
The center is expected to be built on property adjacent to its parking lot in South Nashville. Zoo officials say they are concerned about potential impacts on animal welfare. In a petition posted on Change.org, Nashville Zoo officials argue that a proposed 69,220-square-foot data center, they warn that the noise, lighting, power infrastructure, and other environmental impacts could affect more than 3,000 animals housed at the facility.
“As a conservation and sustainability-focused organization, we are working with community partners to learn what we can do to protect the Zoo’s property, animals and our surrounding neighborhoods,” a spokesperson from the Nashville Zoo said.
Local residents have also raised concerns about the project’s electricity and water demands, as well as possible noise pollution and effects on nearby neighborhoods. The proposal is one of two data center projects currently under consideration in the Nashville area.
