Turning Point USA’s Alternative Halftime Show Draws Millions, Sparks Online Frenzy
On Sunday, February 8th, Kid Rock, Lee Brice, Gabby Barrett, and Brantley Gilbert partnered with Turning Point USA to present the “All-American Halftime Show.” The organization, founded by the late Charlie Kirk, created the program in response to dissatisfaction over the selection of Spanish-language musician Bad Bunny as the official NFL Super Bowl performer.
The show was broadcast on YouTube, TBN, and other platforms during halftime of “The Big Game.” Approximately 6 million tuned in live on YouTube, and since then, video views have surpassed 20 million.

Zach Bryan Criticizes TPUSA Halftime Show, Describes It As “Cringe”
The conflicting halftime shows quickly became a hot topic online, with much discussion about who watched which one. Country artist Zach Bryan joined in on the conversation online and made his disapproval of TPUSA’s display known.
First, Bryan shared an Instagram story featuring a meme about Kid Rock and the Turning Point USA halftime show (below).

Shortly after, he shared a screenshot of a follower’s response to the previous story, accusing him of being a “Hollywood sellout.” The musician wrote over the top:
“I don’t care what side you’re on, a bunch of adults throwing temper tantrums and their own halftime show is embarrassing as hell and the most cringe sh*t on the planet.”
Bryan has since deleted the post. See a screenshot below.

Zach Bryan Replaces Luke Combs As Madden Bowl Headliner
The “Something in the Orange” singer was also a featured performer at an ancillary Super Bowl event over the weekend. The Madden Bowl, an annual competition centered on the Madden NFL video game series, took place on Friday, February 6th.
Luke Combs had been previously announced as the headliner, but was forced to back out the day before to stay near his wife, Nicole, who is due to give birth to their third child. Zach Bryan was announced as his replacement. Teddy Swims, Stephen Wilson Jr., Gavin Adcock, and LaRussell also performed at the event.
Perhaps the most surprising twist from the Madden Bowl was when NFL star Christian McCaffrey joined Zach Bryan on stage to play piano for the set. See a video below!
