The NASCAR community prepares to host a celebration of life for lost comrade, Kyle Busch.
On May 21, shock waves ran through the racing community when news of Kyle Busch’s death broke. He was 41 years old. The Busch family had shared the day prior that the driver had been hospitalized due to a “severe illness.”
Still, no one expected the next announcement to be of his passing. Kyle Busch’s cause of death was confirmed to be “severe pneumonia [that] progressed into sepsis.”
Kyle is survived by his wife, Samantha, and their two children, Brexton and Lennix. The Busch family, Richard Childress Racing, and NASCAR shared their devastation in a joint statement. They wrote:
“Our entire NASCAR family is heartbroken by the loss of Kyle Busch. A future Hall of Famer, Kyle was a rare talent, one who comes along once in a generation. He was fierce, he was passionate, he was immensely skilled and he cared deeply about the sport and fans.”
