Dan Bromley was competing during the second day of the Lima Half-Mile race in Lima, Ohio, on Saturday (June 27) when tragedy struck.
The motorcycle racing community is mourning the tragic loss of flat track champion Dan Bromley.
According to those in attendance at the race held at the Allen County Fairgrounds, several racers “got tangled up” very early. The crash reportedly injured several riders, but Bromley died as a result of his injuries. “After the chaos unfolded and the medical team reached the downed riders, they did their best to treat the injured. Dan unfortunately died as a result of his injuries as result from the crash,” one spectator wrote.
Another spectator shared that Bromley was thrown into the outer fence during the wreck.
The American Motorcyclist Association wrote, “AMA Assistant Track Racing Manager Dan Bromley – paid the ultimate price, passing away after being involved in a crash on the track’s back straightaway.”
Dan Bromley was 30 years old. He and his wife, Connar, share a 3-year-old son and a one-year-old daughter.
About Dan Bromley
A Pennsylvania native, Bromley was a third-generation flat track racer. He acquired two championships during his career: the 2018 AFT Singles champion and the 2025 AFT AdventureTrackers champion.
He is being remembered as humble, kind, and “a true champion.”
AMA Pro Racing released a statement regarding Bromley’s passing.
“Few families have contributed more to the spirit and strength of flat track than the Bromley’s. Dan carried that legacy with talent, humility, and a genuine love for the people around him. He was a true champion in every sense of the word. He earned respect as a racer, but his impact reached far beyond results on the track. His presence in the paddock made our sport better, and his loss will be felt across the entire flat track community. On behalf of AMA Pro Racing, we send our sincere condolences to the Bromley family during this difficult time,” said Gene Crouch, CEO of AMA Pro Racing.
