Dolly Parton’s Nephew Bryan Seaver Breaks His Silence on Estate Dispute
Dolly Parton’s nephew, Bryan Seaver, is preparing to tell his side of the legal dispute involving the late country music legend’s estate. His attorneys have now spoken publicly, arguing that the allegations against their client do not tell the complete story.
The dispute involves Parton’s company, She’s Alive, LLC, and Seaver, who worked as her head of security for more than 20 years.
Bryan Seaver’s Lawyers Challenge the Allegations
In a statement provided to USA Today on October 12, attorneys Dominic Leonardo and James Collier said Seaver would have preferred to keep the matter private.
They explained that the situation had taken a toll on Seaver and his family. They also questioned how the dispute became public while the family was grieving.
His legal team argued that some private text messages had been presented in a misleading way and taken out of context. The attorneys further stated that Seaver’s side of the story had not yet been fully heard in court.
They expressed hope that the dispute could be resolved amicably and without further damage to the family.
Why Is Dolly Parton’s Estate in a Legal Dispute With Her Nephew?
The conflict became public in September, following Seaver’s departure from his longtime security role.
On September 22, She’s Alive, LLC, the company established to protect Parton’s professional and business interests, filed a lawsuit against Seaver and his security company, Squadron Augmented Protection Services.
The estate alleged that Seaver had made threats against employees and attempted to damage Parton’s legacy. The company also sought a temporary restraining order.
Those allegations remain disputed. Seaver’s attorneys have challenged the account presented in the legal filings and say their client’s full response is forthcoming.

Court Hearing Scheduled for October 20
A hearing concerning temporary injunctive relief has been postponed until October 20 after Seaver requested additional time to work with his legal team.
The proceedings are expected to provide another opportunity for the parties to present their positions.
