Kid Rock Reveals He Used AI on New Album ‘Halfway 2 Jesus’
Kid Rock has revealed that artificial intelligence played a role in his upcoming Christian-inspired album, Halfway 2 Jesus.
The singer discussed his use of AI in a recent interview with Billboard, explaining that he sees the technology as another tool that can help musicians bring ideas to life.
The album is scheduled to arrive on October 17.
Kid Rock Used AI for Choirs and Orchestration
According to Kid Rock, AI was used during the production of Halfway 2 Jesus, particularly for full choir arrangements and orchestration.
He used the AI music generator Suno as part of the creative process.
However, Kid Rock made an important distinction. He said AI was not used to write the songs themselves.
Instead, he described the technology as a tool that helped him create sounds and arrangements that matched what he was hearing in his head.
For Kid Rock, the technology is similar to using other tools available to musicians.

“It’s Another Tool”
Kid Rock said he views AI in much the same way a musician might view samples or other production equipment.
He explained that the technology allows him to turn musical ideas into something his audience can hear.
At the same time, he acknowledged that AI could become a major problem for the music industry in the future.
For now, however, he believes it can be used as part of the creative process.
What Is ‘Halfway 2 Jesus’ About?
Halfway 2 Jesus represents a major shift in subject matter for Kid Rock.
The 17-track album is centered around faith, forgiveness and his personal spiritual journey.
The project includes songs such as “James 1:17 (Jesus Is King),” “Water Into Wine,” “Me and Jesus,” “God Is Good” and the title track.
The album also includes several high-profile collaborations.
Gary LeVox and Jimmie Allen appear on “Halfway 2 Jesus,” while Lil Wayne is featured on “7 Sins.”
Eminem, meanwhile, appears on a newly added song called “Heal My Faith.”
Eminem and Lil Wayne Join the Album
The album recently underwent a last-minute change.
Eminem was originally announced as the featured artist on “7 Sins.” Kid Rock later moved Eminem to “Heal My Faith” and brought Lil Wayne onto “7 Sins.”
Kid Rock has explained that the decision reflects the different backgrounds of the musicians involved with the album.
The project now features artists from different musical worlds, adding another unusual element to an already unexpected album.
A New Chapter for Kid Rock
The combination of Christian themes, major collaborations and AI-assisted production makes Halfway 2 Jesus one of the more unusual projects of Kid Rock’s career.
While the use of AI in music remains controversial, Kid Rock appears comfortable experimenting with the technology.
The album will give fans the opportunity to hear how those choices ultimately fit into his new musical direction when Halfway 2 Jesus arrives on October 17.
