Lainey Wilson is one of the biggest stars in country music today, and soon a brand-new documentary will give fans a closer look at how she rose to the top.
Deadline has confirmed that Lainey Wilson is teaming up with Netflix for a new documentary titled Keepin’ Country Cool.
“I couldn’t be more excited that this documentary is going to be on Netflix,” Wilson said in a statement, per Deadline. “This was such a special project to make, and I hope that folks who watch it see that no dream is too big and that staying true to who you are will always lead you exactly where you’re meant to be.”
If you’ve been following Wilson for a while, this may sound familiar. Back in 2024, she worked with ABC to release Lainey Wilson: Bell Bottom Country, which focuses on her early life and the start of her career.
This upcoming documentary, though, will give fans a look at her life like never before. It will highlight major moments throughout her career while also diving into her personal journey, including the struggles and triumphs she’s faced along the way, all while she continues performing night after night for thousands of fans.
Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool, which is inspired by Wilson’s 2024 hit song “Country’s Cool Again,” will be directed by Amy Scott. Producers of the film include Angus Wall, Terry Leonard, Kent Kubena, Thomas Tull, Jillian Share, Jason Owen, and Jen Gorton. Mandelyn Monchick, Josh Miller, Katie Admire, Jillian Apfelbaum, and Nicolas Gordon are executive producers.
“What began as a fever dream project became an intimate journey with one of the most dynamic and fascinating artists of today,” Scott said in a statement. “Lainey’s story is deeply personal, wildly inspiring, and rooted in authenticity, and I can’t imagine a better platform to share it with the world.”
Wilson’s new documentary will premiere globally on Wednesday, April 22.
Lainey’s 2026 Grammy Nominations
Not only does Wilson have the new documentary to look forward to, but in just a few days, she could be heading home with new Grammy Awards.
The Grammys air live this Sunday, February 1, and she’s up for three awards.
Her song “Somewhere Over Laredo” is nominated for Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance. She’s also nominated alongside Miranda Lambert and Reba McEntire for their collaboration “Trailblazer” in the Best Country Duo/Performance category.
The 68th Annual Grammy Awards will air on Sunday, February 1, 2026, live from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. The ceremony begins at 7 PM/8 PM CST, and can be streamed on Paramount+.
