We now know the person who will inherit Kyle Busch‘s estate following the NASCAR champion’s unexpected death.
Kyle died on May 21st at the age of 41. A family statement and details within his death certificate confirmed that he died after developing pneumonia that progressed into sepsis.
On Tuesday (June 16th), nearly one month after Kyle passed away, TMZ obtained a petition that asked to have Clifton Homesley named as the executor of Kyle’s estate. The court filing, which was attached to Kyle’s will, also named the person who will inherit his personal property.
That person is Kyle’s wife, Samantha Busch. The couple married on New Year’s Eve in 2010 and shared two children: Brexton (age 11) and Lennix (age 4).
Few details are known about what holdings comprise Kyle’s estate. However, according to the petition TMZ viewed, he left all of his personal property to Samantha upon his death. That includes his clothing and jewelry.
Additionally, the documents revealed that Kyle’s estate and his family are not filing a potential claim for wrongful death.
There had been questions on whether or not such a filing would be made, since Kyle was heard talking about suffering from a “sinus cold” and needing a “shot” at a race on May 10th, which was a full 11 days before he dieee.
There had been speculation that perhaps doctors who treated Kyle didn’t realize the severity of his condition until it was too late.
Kyle Busch’s Wife Shares The Promise She Made Him Before He Died
On June 5th, Samantha Busch shared her first post on social media following Kyle’s death. She thanked her followers for supporting her and her children through “this unimaginable time.”
Samantha shared another post on June 10th, the day that her and Kyle’s son, Brexton, returned to racing. In the post, Samantha shared the emotional promise she made to Kyle before he passed away:
“In the hospital, I made Kyle a promise. I promised him that I would do everything I could to help our children pursue their dreams no matter what,” she wrote.
For Brexton right now, that dream is racing. But if he ever changes his mind and wants to pursue a different path, Samantha will be beside him, cheering him on. And if Lennix ever wants to start racing too, Samantha will support that as well.
N
o matter where life takes them, Samantha says the racetrack will always be “home” for her and her kids, because it’s a place that brings them closer to Kyle.
“Every time we get to the track, we’re reminded that a piece of our team is missing. The person who should be standing beside us isn’t there,” she said. “That part is heartbreaking. But it’s also where we feel closest to him, surrounded by the memories, the people, and the dreams he helped build. So, we race on.”
Our prayers remain with Samantha, Brexton, Lennix, and all of Kyle Busch’s loved ones…
