Over 30 Beloved ’90s Country Hitmakers Perform At Show Filmed For Upcoming TV Special
Dozens of your favorite ’90s country icons will soon grace your screen in a one-of-a-kind TV special.
If you were to ask a group of country fans which “era” is their favorite, a large number would answer “the ’90s.” With songs such as “Amazed,” “Strawberry Wine,” “Except for Monday,” and “God Blessed Texas” debuting during the decade, it’s really no wonder why fans enjoy ’90s country so much.
Now, ’90s country lovers can revisit all of those songs and more during an upcoming TV special. Titled All-Star Salute To ’90s Country: Honky Tonk Time Machine, the program was filmed at The Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama, on February 5.
The sold-out show featured 40 performances from over 30 hitmakers who dominated the country charts in the ’90s. Audience members ranged in age from 5 to 85, and many spent the night dancing and singing along to the timeless tunes.
“This show is going to be one that is talked about for years to come. Watching the audience sing the words to practically every song back to the artists as they were performing proved what an impact ’90s Country music had on those that grew up listening to it,” said executive producer Frank Matassa of LMA Productions, Inc. in a press release about the concert. “The songs, the artists, the memories, and the final television show is going to be something very special for the television audience no matter what age is watching.”

The show’s setlist featured 17 chart-topping songs. Daryle Singletary, Kevin Sharp, Randy Travis, and George Jones were honored through tribute performances of some of their greatest ’90s hits.
Janie Fricke, The Forester Sisters, and Lee Greenwood delivered some “throwback” moments with ’80s-themed performances. Greenwood performed two songs, including his patriotic anthem, “God Bless the USA.”
