Storage Wars Star Darrell Sheets Was Found Deceased On April 22
New information is emerging about the alleged cyberbullying Darrell Sheets faced prior to his death at the age of 67.
Darrell Sheets was a former cast member on the hit reality series Storage Wars. He earned the nickname “The Gambler” because he was never afraid to take risks.
Sheets left the show in 2023, and opened an antique shop in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
Sadly, Sheets was found deceased by officers from the Lake Havasu City police department on April 22. A press release from the department (as cited by PEOPLE) reads:
“Upon arrival, officers located a male subject who suffered from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The male was pronounced deceased on scene, and the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit was notified and responded to the scene to assume the investigation.”

Storage Wars Star Rene Nezhoda Shares Information About Darrell Sheets’ Alleged Cyberbully
After Darell Sheets’ death, one of his former co-stars, Rene Nezhoda, shared a video on social media. He addressed the true nature of their relationship, revealing they were actually friends even though Storage Wars made them look like enemies.
Because of their friendship, Nezhoda was aware that Sheets had expressed concern about a cyberbully who was “really, really tormenting” him before his death. Nezhoda pushed the police to investigate these claims and urged his followers not to become bullies themselves.
“Guys, just ‘cause you watch us on television, doesn’t mean you know us,” Nezhoda said. “It doesn’t mean you know what we’re about. Also, it doesn’t entitle you to bully somebody…You shouldn’t cyberbully at all.“
The public information officer for the Lake Havasu City Police Department, Sergeant Kyle Ridgway, released the following statement to Page Six, which read:
“We are aware of these cyberbullying accusations and that is a part of the active investigation.”
Nezhoda has since shared new information about Sheets’ alleged cyberbully. During a recent interview with Us Weekly, Nezhoda said:
“[The alleged bully] was impersonating [Sheets] with phone calls, messages, emails, websites…He flat out said, ‘I’m gonna ruin you.’ I mean, all you have to do is go to Darrell’s last few messages on Facebook. He kind of withdrew from social media.”
Nezhoda continued to speak about the messages Sheets shared on Facebook before his death, saying:
“He even said, I think on March 9, ‘Hey guys, I’m happy. Everything is great — if anything happens to me, look at these people. These are the people.’ And then he posted a bunch of messages [about it]. And a month later we find him dead … I am 50/50, if he even did that [to himself]. I don‘t know.”
What Darrell Sheets Said On Facebook About His Alleged Cyberbully
Darrell Sheets appeared to have at least two Facebook pages, but still didn’t have a super active social media presence. However, a little over a month before his death, he shared two posts claiming he had a ruthless cyberbully.
In the first post, shared on March 9, Sheets said, “[Once] again people of Havasu, I have been hacked by a very evil person.”
Sheets claimed there was a page called “Darrell. The clown.Sheets” being run by “very evil people” who were pretending to be him and making false statements.
“I’m extremely sorry and sick over this,” he added. “These people have ruined me…people are showing up to my work and wanting to harm me , the police are aware of this but [their] hands are tied because Facebook allows this and it is very bad.”
Sheets ended the March 9 post by saying “if something happens” to him, everyone should look into his alleged cyberbully.
Then, in a second post on March 11, Sheets said:
“Well people here is my cyber bully stalker just letting people know if anything happens to me this [is] him.”
In that post, Sheets claimed the cyberbullying had “been going on for 3 years and the things [the bully] says are very damaging.”
More Storage Wars Stars Speak About The Alleged Cyberbully In Darrell Sheets’ Life
Storage Wars stars Laura and Dan Dotson also spoke with Us Weekly about the claims that Sheets had been dealing with a cyberbully before his death.
“His family told us that this has been happening for three years,” Laura Dotson said. “[It happens to] even strong men that you think aren’t gonna get their feelings hurt. Cyberbullying is a real thing.”
Laura Dotson said Sheets “was terrified for his life [and] for the people around him.”
She remembered Sheets as “[a] truly, truly was a wonderful, loving person who believed in God.”
Laura is one of the latest Storage Wars stars to honor Sheets after his death. Rene Nezhoda and Brandi Passante are among some of the other cast members who’ve honored him with tributes.
Passante said she was “at a loss for words” after Sheets’ death. She shared her sympathy for Sheets’ family and friends, saying, “I’m just so very sorry, to hear the circumstances of his passing.“
We too, join her in praying for Sheets’ loved ones during this difficult time.
