Travis Tritt Cover Earns Young Country Singer a Spot on Team Riley
Riley Green officially began his journey as a coach on The Voice with an impressive first addition to his team.
During the Season 30 premiere on September 21, Alabama teenager Joe Henley captured the attention of both Riley Green and Kelly Clarkson with his performance of Travis Tritt’s country classic “Anymore.”
The 19-year-old singer quickly turned two chairs, setting up an early battle between the coaches.

Before taking the stage, Henley revealed that he was already a fan of Riley Green. He also admitted that he hoped both Green and Kelly Clarkson would turn their chairs so he could see them compete for him.
His wish came true.
As soon as Henley began singing “Anymore,” both Riley and Kelly turned their chairs. His deep voice and strong country style immediately made an impression.
Henley also revealed that he had never performed a professional gig before appearing on The Voice.
Despite his limited experience, the young singer delivered a performance that caught the attention of two established artists.
Riley Green Joins Joe Henley on Stage
After the audition, Riley Green joined Henley on stage with a guitar.
The two performed Green’s latest single, “My Way,” together. They took turns singing while Riley accompanied the young singer on guitar.
The moment gave Green another opportunity to connect with Henley before the contestant made his final decision.
Kelly Clarkson also made her case, but Riley had a major advantage. Henley had already admitted that Green was one of his favorite artists.
Joe Henley Chooses Team Riley
When it was time to select a coach, Joe Henley chose Riley Green.
That decision made him the first member of Team Riley during Green’s debut season on The Voice.
Kelly Clarkson congratulated Riley on the win and even suggested that Henley could potentially help him win the entire competition.
“He could win you The Voice,” Kelly told Riley.
The moment marked an important start for Green, who is competing as a first-time coach alongside Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine and Queen Latifah.
Riley Green Wants Country Artists on His Team
Riley also explained that he plans to focus heavily on country singers throughout the season.
“I want to get all of them,” Green said. “Because I think there’s a great chance of a country artist winning the whole show.”
With Joe Henley now on his team, Riley Green has already taken the first step toward that goal.
Henley’s journey will continue as Season 30 of The Voice moves forward.
