Carrie Underwood Reportedly Exploring Rock Music With Axl Rose
Carrie Underwood may be preparing to explore a sound far removed from her country music roots.
According to a new report from TMZ, the country superstar has been working on rock music in the studio, with Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose reportedly helping guide her through the process.
The report is based on anonymous sources. Neither Carrie Underwood nor anyone from her team has publicly confirmed the news.
Still, the possible collaboration would not come as a complete surprise to longtime fans.
Carrie and Axl have shared the stage several times. Their most memorable performance came at the 2022 Stagecoach Festival, where they performed Guns N’ Roses classics including “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and “Paradise City.”
Carrie Underwood Has Been Showing Her Rock Side
In recent years, Carrie has become increasingly open about her love for rock music.
She previously performed with Papa Roach and joined the band onstage for their song “Leave a Light On.” She also surprised fans in September 2026 with a powerful performance of Limp Bizkit’s “Break Stuff” during the Velocity Festival in Iowa.
Her festival set also included songs by Linkin Park, Papa Roach and Collective Soul.
Carrie has also performed rock songs by artists such as Joan Jett, Led Zeppelin and Mötley Crüe throughout her career.
Axl Rose Has Long Been an Inspiration
Underwood has previously spoken about how much Axl Rose influenced her singing.
She explained that she learned by choosing difficult vocalists and trying to match their performances. Axl’s voice, in particular, always challenged and inspired her.
That history makes the latest report especially interesting.
Carrie has released eight studio albums, and all of them have been rooted in country music. A possible rock project would therefore represent a major change in direction for the singer.
