For Samantha Busch, this year’s return to Indianapolis was filled with memories that were both beautiful and heartbreaking.
The recent race weekend marked the place where she first met her late husband, NASCAR legend Kyle Busch, back in 2007. Nearly two decades later, returning to the track without him brought what she described as “a flood of emotions.”

A Place Where Their Story Began
In a heartfelt social media post, Samantha reflected on how Indianapolis had always held a special place in their hearts.
She shared that every year they found a way to celebrate the anniversary of meeting there. Sometimes it was a quiet dinner together, while other years they simply walked around the track, remembering the young couple who had no idea where life would take them.
Looking Back At Their Younger Selves
Alongside photos taken in 2007, Samantha wrote about seeing two young people completely caught up in the excitement of falling in love.
She recalled being a college student at the time and never imagining that one chance meeting at the racetrack would lead to nearly twenty years of memories, a beautiful marriage, and two children together.
“Soak Up Every Single Second”
One of the most emotional parts of her message came as she reflected on those early days of their relationship.
Samantha said she wishes she could tell her 21-year-old self to “soak up every single second,” because she never could have imagined how beautiful their life would become—or that one day she would be wishing for just one more day with Kyle.
A Love That Never Faded
She also reflected on the life they built together, saying they grew up side by side and continued choosing each other through every season, every challenge, and every dream.
Although Kyle is no longer with her, Samantha’s words made it clear that the love they shared remains a lasting part of her life and continues to inspire those following her journey.
