Country superstar Riley Green has been named the newest coach for The Voice‘s landmark 30th season.
Riley Green is adding a new role to his already impressive resume – The Voice coach! Riley shared the exciting news in a social media post on Saturday, saying: “I guess y’all can start calling me coach… see ya this fall.”
The news comes after the show teased the announcement in a series of posts that included a cowboy hat resting on a red Voice chair, a camouflage Voice chair with a flying duck in the background, and the iconic chair with a mustache.
Riley’s addition to The Voice makes him the latest country star to occupy a coach’s seat. Blake Shelton, Reba McEntire, Kelsea Ballerini, and Dan + Shay have each taken their turn in the role.
Prior to Saturday’s announcement, the show revealed that Adam Levine, who has coached for 18 of the 30 seasons, and Kelly Clarkson, who has won four of the ten seasons she has coached, would be returning for The Voice‘s landmark season.
In a video Riley posted to social media, he shared a voicemail from Kelly Clarkson congratulating him on his new role. She also sent him a gift to help him prepare – his own red chair.
