Reba McEntire & Rex Linn’s Sweet Love Story
Country music icon Reba McEntire and actor Rex Linn confirmed their engagement during a red carpet appearance before the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards.
The couple first met in 1991 on the set of The Gambler. They stayed in touch one filming wrapped but didn’t connect romantically until they reunited on the set of “Young Sheldon” and began dating in 2020.
“We instantly bonded over living in Oklahoma and our love for horses and acting,” Reba said of their first meeting. “He made me laugh, and we became good buddies.”
A few years later, Reba shared that she would happily marry Rex if he wanted to.
“If that’s something he feels totally strong about, that’s fine with me,” Reba said. “He’s never been married before. So, if he wants to experience that, I’m OK with that,” she wrote in 2024.

The two now star in NBC’s hit show Happy’s Place together. In an interview with TV Line in January 2024, Rex revealed what it’s really like to work the country music star. And it sounds exactly as we may expect of the absolute powerhouse.
“She doesn’t stop moving,” he said at the time. “I’m telling you, man, she’s like a great white shark. Can’t stop or they’ll die in the water. [Laughs] At least that’s what the scientists tell us.”

In an interview with PEOPLE at the 2026 Grammy Awards, Reba also shared just how much she loves working alongside Linn.
“Rex and I have the best time working together,” Reba said. “We’ve done movies together, television shows together, dramady and sitcoms.”
The “Fancy” singer noted just how much she adores her fiancé in real life, too.
“He’s the best date ever,” Reba gushed.
Rex Shares More Details About The Couple’s Wedding
Rex previously shared that the two weren’t rushing into any wedding plans, but enjoying their time together as an engaged couple. However, it seems the planning is starting to come to fruition, and he shared they may now have a location in mind!
While speaking on the red carpet with Extra, Rex admits that while they still don’t have a date set in stone for the big day, it will be taking place at their Tennessee ranch. Rex also noted that the guest list will “probably” be small but there will be plenty of animals.
