Netflix Acquires Doc ‘Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool’ From Teton Ridge, Sandbox Studios And MakeMake

Lainey Wilson is giving fans in intimate look at what it’s like to be a country music superstar.

She already has tons of shows booked for 2026, while she also tries to plan a wedding, so we’ll probably be lucky if we get a new album… but considering how Lainey never seems to stop working, I won’t be surprised if she does put out some sort of project.

But she had a bit of a wildcard up her sleeve, because according to Deadline, she’s been working on a documentary called Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool, which has been acquired by Netflix and follows her life juggling being a country music superstar.

It was directed by Amy Scott and produced by Teton Ridge Entertainment, Sandbox Studios and MakeMake in association with Shark Pig Studios, and will be available on Netflix globally starting on April 22nd.

Lainey says it was a very “special project” to make, and she hopes the message of dreaming big, while staying true to who you are, is the secret to success no matter what you’re chasing:

“I couldn’t be more excited that this documentary is going to be on Netflix. This was such a special project to make, and I hope that folks who watch it see that no dream is too big and that staying true to who you are will always lead you exactly where you’re meant to be.”

The description of the film says the doc will navigate the complexities of a small town girl who has found stardom, and how she maintains balance in both her personal and professional life with humility and grace:

“The doc follows Wilson as she redefines what it means to be a modern country star, proving that staying true to yourself can lead to major success.

The film captures a pivotal moment in her career, exploring the country icon’s personal journey and chronicling her struggles and triumphs as she captivates fans on stage across the country.”

Producers include Angus Wall, Terry Leonard, Kent Kubena, Thomas Tull, Jillian Share, Jason Owen, Jen Gorton. Mandelyn Monchick, Josh Miller, Katie Admire, Jillian Apfelbaum and Nicolas Gordon will executive produce.

Director Amy Scott says it’s both “personal” and “authentic,” and will give fans a very detailed look at who Lainey is:

“What began as a fever dream project became an intimate journey with one of the most dynamic and fascinating artists of today. Lainey’s story is deeply personal, wildly inspiring, and rooted in authenticity, and I can’t imagine a better platform to share it with the world.”

Most of Lainey’s fans know how down-to-earth and humble she is, and she’s never forgotten who she is or where she came from despite incredible success, and it sounds like this film is going to give fans a fresh perspective on an artist they already know and love.

The life of an artist at this level of success is fascinating no matter who it is, but someone as lovable as Lainey just makes it even more intriguing and I’m sure it will be a great watch. Mark your calendars for April 22nd…

And until then, turn up Lainey’s ninth career #1, which recently topped the charts at country radio, “Somewhere Over Laredo”:
