Morgan Wallen has done a ton of great work through his Morgan Wallen Foundation, recently donating over a million dollars to his hometown high school for renovations on their baseball field, in addition to many other chartable efforts to schools and other organizations all over the country.
And it sounds like he’s just as generous in his personal life, too.
Last year, a young boy from Michigan named Jameson was diagnosed with midline high grade glioma and high-grade glioma in his brain and spine. He also has Osteosarcoma, which is cancer in the bone in his arm near his right elbow. The family was tragically told that Jameson may only have weeks to live. During his battle with cancer, Jameson listened to Morgan Wallen often, and the music got him through some tough days.
And last summer, Morgan invited Jameson, and his parents, Amanda and Josh, to attend Morgan’s show at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin, where they were given the VIP treatment and of course got to meet and hang out with Morgan before the show. Amanda says that Morgan was incredible kind and humble, and even prayed with Jameson and his family before the show. Morgan and his team gave him and his entire family a night to remember, even sending them home in a limo, in addition to making sure they had everything they needed throughout the entire show. Jameson very sadly passed away just a couple months later in August of 2025, and his family continues to carry on his legacy through the Jameson Strong Nonprofit.
While I can’t even imagine how horrific this time has been for Jameson’s parents, Amanda recently shared that Morgan quietly paid for Jameson’s funeral expenses, which we all know are incredible expensive and can be a heavy burden on a family already who more than likely has significant medical bills and is grieving the loss of their young son. It’s unimaginable to think of losing a child this way, and I think it says a lot about Morgan that he gave back to this family in a way that surely meant a lot to them.
Amanda says there “are no words for how amazing that is”:
“Going to see your favorite artist Morgan Wallen this summer and even though you’re in Heaven I know you have the best seat in the house and just know we are taking you with us. I’m very blessed and thankful that you were able to meet him and go to his concert. I will forever be a Morgan Wallen fan! The fact that he quietly paid for your funeral there just are no words to how amazing that is. You listened to his music to get through fighting cancer and now Mama listens to it to get through each day without you.”
The family will be attending his Ann Arbor show this coming July.
Morgan often gets a bad rap in the media, and I think it’s very unfair a lot of the time… these kinds of stories go to show who the real man behind the microphone is:
