Luke Combs Drops New Track That Will Tug At Your Heartstrings – Listen To “Giving Her Away”

Anyone with a daughter, or just anyone in general, will find themselves in a puddle of tears after listening to Luke Combs‘ brand-new song, “Giving Her Away.”

Luke started sharing teasers of the new song in November. Those teasers soon made it clear that “Giving Her Away” would tell an emotional story about a groom-to-be speaking to his future father-in-law.

Luke’s biggest teaser came on November 30, when he shared a video of himself singing part of the track while playing an acoustic guitar.

Fans grabbed their tissues and prepared to have a good cry when the song finally dropped on Friday (December 5). Luke also released a “studio video” to accompany the track, which shows him singing in the recording booth.

Just as expected, Luke tugs at the heartstrings with the story he shares in “Giving Her Away.” The lyrics are sweet and sincere, as Luke shares his love for his bride and for the man who raised her.

As he sings:

“Yeah, I know it’s gotta be tough,

And you’re happy but you’re hurting behind that smile.

You’ll always be her first love,

And mine’s walking down the aisle.

That song’s about to play,

We’re gonna say, ‘I do.’

And for the rest of my days,

I’ll do my best to fill your shoes.”

Luke And His Wife, Nicole, Are Expecting Their Third Child

Luke Combs married his beautiful wife, Nicole, in 2020. They’ve since welcomed two sons, Tex (age 3) and Beau (age 2).

In September, Luke and Nicole shared the exciting news that they’re expecting their third child. Nicole is due to give birth sometime this winter.

The couple is waiting until Baby #3 is born to learn if they’re having a boy or a girl. But Luke still has some names in mind. He joked that if it were entirely up to him, he’d love to use the middle name “Flint.”

When it comes to first names, particularly for girls, Luke likes more “old-school” choices such as “Olive” or “Donna,” the latter of which was his grandmother’s name.

There’s always a chance that Baby Combs could be a little girl, which would make “Giving Her Away” even more meaningful for Luke to sing in the future.
