Landman Has Been Renewed For Season 3
Even before Landman aired the Season Two finale on January 18, 2026, the show was picked up for a third season. In fact, it was renewed just 19 days after the second season premiered on November 16, 2025.
The ratings for the Season Two finale delivered some incredible numbers, with 14.8 million people watching the episode in the first two days it premiered, making it the most-watched season finale that Paramount+ has ever had.
According to The Wrap, that was a 70% increase in viewership compared to Season 1’s finale.
What’s Next For Season 3?
Season Two ended in a way no fan could have even imagined. Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) was fired from M-Tex, Cami Miller (Demi Moore) was left without someone to run her company, since the replacement she wanted (lawyer Nate, played by Colm Feore) quit out of respect for Tommy.
Due to Cami’s firing of Tommy, there was a mass exodus, with M-Tex losing both their lawyers, a valuable oil rigging team, and relationships that Tommy built from the ground up.
Tommy also got back into bed with Dan Morello (also known as Gallindo, a dangerous cartel boss), who threatened every one Tommy loves if he does not deliver on his promises, and started his own oil company, CTT Oil Exploration & Cattle.
His new company would include his son Cooper (Jacob Lofland), Cooper’s fiancé Ariana (Paulina Chávez), and even his father, T.L. (Sam Elliott).
Season 2 ended with Tommy and Angela’s daughter Ainsley (Michelle Randolph) getting ready to head to Texas Christian University, so we will likely see her journey there in Season 3.
And speaking of Tommy and Angela, it seems their once-volatile relationship is in a good spot, but Season 3 could implode everything that Tommy built in the Season 2 finale. Only time will tell.
Season 3 Could Be Delayed
The past two seasons of Landman premiered in mid-November and wrapped up in January. This meant that filming began in May in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Landman co-creator Christian Wallace answered their burning questions about the hit show, including a possible delay.
The Hollywood Reporter‘s Jackie Strause asked Wallace if they planned on sticking with the same production schedule of beginning in May, with episodes planned for a November premiere.
“Oh definitely,” he replied. “We are a little bit later than we were the last two seasons, but that only matter for us because of the heat in Texas.”
Wallace continued:
“When we get back into production this year, it’s going to be pretty full on, and just getting hotter. That’s the big struggle from a production standpoint for us being on set every day. We have so many exteriors, and that’s a good thing because this show thrives in the dust and the heat and the reality of that gritty, hot world. But it is hard on the crew and cast, and on everybody. Twelve-hour days in 100-plus degree weather is no joke. But that is our cross to bear, not the audiences’. I’m excited about the schedule and I think the rhythm we’re in right now works really well.”
So, while they want to be as close to the previous two seasons’ schedules, it sounds like it might be a little bit later. We will see what they can get done this summer while they film in the brutal Texas heat!
