Growing up in this world as a girl can be cruel, and we have heard stories from Lainey Wilson fans about being bullied for embracing that they love a Western flare in fashion or being knocked down for chasing a dream others might not see.
Heck, I know even for myself that when I told my parents I wanted to chase a crazy dream, like becoming a country music blogger it came with a slight head tilt. But, while I am fortunate enough to have parents who believe me when I say I am meant to be doing something, some young girls do not have the same support system and sometimes need to be reminded how incredible they are.
Wilson is empowering today’s youth on her Country’s Cool Again Tour, crowning a “Cowgirl of the Night” from the audience. Each night, Wilson pulls a little girl on stage. While this alone would make many fans’ dreams come true, she takes it a step further, introducing them to the crowd and gifting the fan with a Lainey Wilson-styled cowgirl hat.
Wilson took to social media to share a sweet moment from last night’s show when a girl named Nora was honored as the Cowgirl of the Night. Before Wilson placed the “crown” on her head, she had Nora repeat some words of affirmation with her. Buckle up, folks, because this will tug at the heart.
“All you have to do- it’s real easy. Repeat after me, okay? Say, ‘I am beautiful. I am smart. I am talented. I can do anything. I am Cowgirl of the Night!’ Give it up for Nora! You look good too, girl.”
