Ozzy Osbourne Honored At The 2026 BRIT Awards
On February 28, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne was posthumously honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award during the 2026 BRIT Awards. The award recognized his influence on rock and heavy metal music all across the world.
The legendary Black Sabbath frontman died on July 22, 2025. His family announced his passing in a public statement at the time.
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time,” the statement read.
Diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019, the rock singers health had been a growing concern in recent years. Ozzy was 76 at the time of his death.

Kelly Osbourne Responds To Online Criticism
Ozzy’s wife, Sharon, and daughter, Kelly, were in attendance to accept the award on his behalf. After the show, many social media users began commenting on Kelly’s appearance, some comparing her to a “skeleton.”
Kelly took to Instagram stories, which has since expired, to respond to the criticism, saying that attacking someone during a time of grief is “a special kind of cruelty.”
“There is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something. Kicking me while I’m down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most. None of it proves strength; it only reveals a profound absence of compassion and character,” she said.
Kelly Opens Up About Her Grieving Process
Kelly has been very vocal about her grieving process, and on the seven month anniversary of her father’s death, shared a bit more about the pain she has been walking through this year.
“It changes shape. It becomes the quiet weight you learn to carry, the ache woven into your days,” Kelly said. “Making it through doesn’t mean leaving it behind. It means finding the strength to live and love and keep going even with forever resting heavily on your heart.”
She says she remains focused on honoring her father’s legacy while protecting her own well-being during this deeply painful period.
