The ‘American Idol’ Finalist Celebrated The Connection Country Music Has With Christian Faith
He’s only 19 years old, but, on Feb. 20, John Foster made his 11th appearance singing from within the circle of the Grand Ole Opry.
For his latest performance, he started with George Strait’s “Write This Down” before turning to one of his own original songs, “Little Goes A Long Way.”
However, he didn’t stop there, as he then led the audience at the Grand Ole Opry in a powerful and enduring song of the faith, “How Great Thou Art.”
Speaking to the audience, John Foster noted that he’s “dedicated to bringing back traditional country music,” but then added, “The reason that I’m standing here in the sacred circle of country music is because I love and am devoted to my Lord and savior, Jesus Christ.”
Foster then asked the crowd, “Would y’all mind if I sang a little worship song tonight?”
This was met with a resounding “yes.”
