Jelly Roll Announces Goal To Be On The Cover Of Men’s Health Magazine
In December 2024, Jelly Roll announced a bold goal that many thought was crazy.
“I wanna be on the cover of Men’s Health by March 2026. That’s my new goal. I want to have one of the biggest transformations.”
He shared the dream during an episode of the Dumb Blonde podcast, hosted by his wife, Bunnie Xo. At the time, he had lost 120 pounds from a starting weight of roughly 540 pounds.
In the months that followed, Jelly Roll continued to be transparent about his health journey, sharing periodic updates and inspiring others in the process. He confirmed that he made the choice to lose the weight naturally, making lifestyle improvements that would create lasting change.
This began with small adjustments: focusing his diet on whole foods and protein, and reaching a daily step goal. He partnered with both mental and physical health professionals to help guide him. Eventually, as the “Save Me” singer began to understand his food addiction, he realized:
“Overeating wasn’t a failure of willpower for me; it was a biological loop that I didn’t know how to interrupt.”

Jelly Roll’s Men’s Health Cover Story
On January 2nd, two months ahead of schedule, Jelly Roll officially achieved his goal! The first cover of the year for Men’s Health was unveiled, featuring the rapper-turned-country star beaming from ear to ear.
In the exclusive feature, titled The Unstoppable Jelly Roll: Grit, Sweat, and His Epic Fitness Journey, the singer confirms that he has lost a staggering 275 pounds. On the morning of his Men’s Health cover shoot, he weighed in at 265.
Jelly Roll tells the magazine:
“Once I started treating food like an addiction, it started changing everything for me. When I started really looking at the source of why I was eating. What was I eating for?”

See A Year In The Life Of Jelly Roll
Along with the cover story, the publication revealed that they had been following the 41-year-old for the past year. Footage from his “journey of self-discovery and transformation” has been compiled into a short documentary titled A Year for a Life. The film is described:
“Join Jelly as he goes from 380 pounds at the start of last year to 265 pounds during a weigh-in on the morning of his cover shoot. (After which he promptly called his friend and UFC president Dana White to celebrate.) Watch the doc and see how Jelly Roll changed—and maybe even saved—his life.”
