A Name That Honors Ozzy Osbourne
Jack Osbourne and Aree chose a name that carries deep family significance. Their daughter’s full name is Ozzy Matilda Osbourne.
The name pays tribute to Jack’s father, Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary frontman of Black Sabbath.
Although Ozzy passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76, his legacy continues through his music and now through his granddaughter’s name.
In a statement at the time of his passing, the family shared:
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
Ozzy had previously been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. His primary cause of death was later determined to be out of hospital cardiac arrest.
For the Osbourne family, naming the baby Ozzy is both a tribute and a way to carry that legacy forward.
Growing the Osbourne Family
Jack and Aree first announced their pregnancy in December with a playful post that read, “oops I did it again!”
The couple married in September 2023 in an intimate ceremony at San Ysidro Ranch in California. Jack proposed nearly two years earlier during a snowy getaway.
Ozzy Matilda is their second child together. They previously welcomed their daughter Maple Artemis Osbourne on July 9, 2022.
Jack also has three daughters from his previous marriage:
Pearl Clementine Osbourne, 13
Andy Rose Osbourne, 10
Minnie Theodora Osbourne, 7
With the arrival of Ozzy Matilda, Jack is now a father of five.
Aree’s Tribute to Ozzy
Following Ozzy Osbourne’s passing, Aree shared a heartfelt tribute on social media. She described him as more than a rock legend.
She wrote that while the world saw a rockstar, their family knew him as a goofy, big hearted man who loved ice lollies and made everyone laugh.
She also thanked him for raising Jack and for the love he brought into their lives.
The tribute reflected the personal side of a global music icon and showed how deeply he was loved within his family.
A New Chapter for the Osbournes
The birth of Ozzy Matilda comes during an emotional chapter for the Osbourne family. While she will never meet her grandfather, her name ensures that his memory remains part of the family’s story.
Fans continue to share messages of support and congratulations as the Osbournes celebrate their newest addition.
