As the 250th anniversary of America declaring its independence nears, with July 4 less than two weeks away, President Donald Trump is preparing for a series of celebratory events to mark the occasion.
Fifty years ago, in 1976, the nation celebrated the bicentennial, ringing bells across the nation.
Now, five decades later, the semiquincentennial is being marked with immense displays of patriotic fervor.
On Wednesday, June 24, after weeks of controversy, Trump will be kicking off the Great American State Fair, a 16-day event held on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
While thousands are expected to attend Trump’s opening remarks, which he has described as the “rally to end all rallies,” there are also ways to watch the speech and other festivities live on television and streaming online.
How To Watch Trump’s Great American State Fair “America Is Back” Rally
“We need somebody that can take the brand of the United States and make it great again,” said Trump in 2015 as he announced he was running for president, adding that the nation needs “a cheerleader” instead of a “negative force.”
Now, 11 years later, Trump is serving his second term as commander-in-chief, with his non-consecutive presidential terms conveniently lining up to allow for him to preside over celebrations of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
Among those celebrations is the Great American State Fair, which begins on June 25 and runs through July 10 in Washington, D.C.
On the evening before the fair begins, Trump will be kicking off the Great American State Fair, even as artists have backed out of performing. As artists began dropping out, Trump floated the idea of being the headliner, saying he “gets much larger audiences than Elvis in his prime,” adding that he does so “without a guitar.”
Now, that’s a reality.
Starting at 7 p.m. on June 24, Trump announced on Truth Social that he will be putting on “the Greatest Rally, EVER,” adding that it “will be special at every level — A Rally to end all Rallies!”
Admission to attend the rally in-person is free, with tickets available on the Freedom 250 website.
However, how to watch the rally live online or on TV has not been made as clear.
To watch it live on television, C-SPAN 2 will be broadcasting the event, starting at 7 p.m.
Further, for those hoping to watch the Great American State Fair kick off rally online, it will be available to stream on the C-SPAN website, here.
The fair’s organizer, Freedom 250, has a live stream that can be watched, here:
