What We Know About Kayce Dutton’s Long-Awaited Yellowstone Spin-Off
Marshals, the new series centered on Yellowstone‘s Kayce Dutton, is one of the most highly anticipated shows premiering in 2026.
The show was previously called Y: Marshals before making a semi-last-minute title change in January.
But the plot and premise remain the same. The series will follow Kayce (played by Luke Grimes) as he searches for a “new beginning.” He’ll find that “new beginning” by joining an elite group of U.S. Marshals.
In addition to Grimes, other Yellowstone alums reprising their roles in the new series include Brecken Merrill (Tate Dutton), Gil Birmingham (Chief Rainwater), and Mo Brings Plenty (Mo).
However, one character is noticeably missing from all promotions. Kayce’s wife, Monica (played by Kelsey Asbille), hasn’t appeared in any of the teasers or trailers.
In fact, the official trailer hints at a major death in Kayce’s world. Naturally, that led fans to believe Monica would meet a tragic fate.

Marshals also features a group of new characters played by Logan Marshall-Green, Arielle Kebbel, Ash Santos, and Tatanka Means.
Additionally, country music singer Riley Green will make his acting debut in the series. He plays a character named Garrett.
