Police Responded to a Domestic Dispute at Dolly Parton’s Home Weeks Before Her Death
Police reportedly responded to a domestic dispute at Dolly Parton’s home in Brentwood, Tennessee, on July 13, 2026, just over a month before the country music icon’s reported death.
According to a report cited by Whiskey Riff and Taste of Country, the call involved members of Parton’s extended family. An officer was dispatched to investigate an allegation of assault at the property near Nashville.
What Happened at Dolly Parton’s Home?
According to the incident report, 21-year-old Keegan Seaver alleged that his aunt, Rebecca Seaver, had struck him several times following a verbal confrontation.
Rebecca reportedly acknowledged confronting her nephew but gave a different account of the physical contact. She said she had only moved his hand away after he placed it in front of her face.
The report stated that Keegan did not suffer any injuries.
Police Did Not Determine That an Assault Occurred
The responding officer said the accounts from both parties conflicted and there was not enough evidence to identify a primary aggressor or establish that an assault had occurred.
No arrests were made, according to the published reports. The officer advised both parties to separate and consult their supervisors to help prevent the situation from escalating.
Rebecca Seaver has been identified in the reports as the director of the Dolly Parton Archive and executive director of the Life of Many Colors Museum.

The report also cited records indicating that police had received nearly 30 calls connected to Parton’s residence over the previous year and a half. Those calls reportedly involved a range of issues, including burglary reports, panic alarms, a welfare check and requests for additional patrols.
