Darrell Sheets may have spent years hunting for hidden treasures in storage units on A&E’s Storage Wars, but those who knew him best say his greatest pride was always his family.
Sheets, who died April 22 at age 67 at his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, leaves behind a son, a daughter and a granddaughter he adored. Here’s what to know about the family of the late Storage Wars star.
Brandon Sheets: Darrell Sheets’ Son and ‘Storage Wars’ Costar
Brandon Sheets was perhaps the most visible member of Darrell’s family, appearing regularly alongside his father on Storage Wars under the nickname “Sidebet” — a natural companion to his dad’s “The Gambler” moniker. Like his father, Brandon developed a deep knowledge of antiques and auctions through years of working the show.
Brandon married his wife Melissa in 2015. The couple have two children together — a daughter named Addilyn and a son named Laiden. Brandon has since moved into real estate, working as an agent in Arizona.
Darrell Sheets’ Daughter Tiffany Stayed Out of the Spotlight
Unlike her brother, Darrell’s daughter Tiffany largely stayed out of the spotlight and did not appear on Storage Wars. Very little is publicly known about her. In a September 2020 Instagram post celebrating Tiffany’s 38th birthday, Darrell acknowledged the distance between them, writing that it was “too bad she’s not around” to see how her daughter Zoie was growing up. He said he hoped Tiffany was “happy and healthy and living your life to the fullest” — and gently noted that a phone call to Zoie “would be nice.”

Darrell Sheets Adored and Took Care of His Granddaughter Zoie
Of all the people in Darrell’s life, it was his granddaughter Zoie — Tiffany’s daughter — who occupied a special place in his heart. In the absence of her mother, Darrell largely stepped into a parental role for Zoie, and she was a constant presence on his social media throughout the years.

Fellow Storage Wars cast member René Nezhoda spoke about Darrell’s devotion to his family after learning of his death. “He was a very hard worker that cared more than anyone I’ve ever met about their family, about his son, about Zoie, pretty much all the people in his life,” Nezhoda said.
Kimber Wuerfel
Though Darrell’s relationship status at the time of his death was not officially confirmed, he remained close with longtime partner Kimber Wuerfel, whom many considered his wife. The two had been together since 2011, split at some point, and evidently reconciled in later years — with Wuerfel making frequent appearances on Darrell’s Instagram up through September 2024, when he referred to her as “my Girl.” In a 2021 Mother’s Day tribute, Darrell called her “one of the hardest working women I know” and said he was “so grateful” to have her in his life.
