“American Idol” Audience Erupts Into A Sing-Along Of Carrie Underwood’s “Before He Cheats” [WATCH]
American Idol‘s Hollywood Week Kicked Off With A Group Performance Of “Before He Cheats” Thanks To The Live Audience
Hollywood Week for Season 24 of American Idol officially began on Monday night, February 23.
During the two-hour-long episode, singers who earned a Golden Ticket in the audition rounds took the stage to perform a song of their choice, hoping to advance in the competition.
There were over 100 hopefuls, but only 30 would be selected by judges Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie to move on.
But the contestants weren’t the only ones who showed off their singing skills during the night. A live audience was in attendance for the Hollywood Week premiere, and they wanted in on the fun, too.
In a post shared to Carrie Underwood’s Instagram page, a video shows the entire crowd breaking out into a full-on sing-along of “Before He Cheats.”
At this point, everyone knows the Carrie classic. It’s been a country music staple for years. In fact, she released the track shortly after she won her own season of Idol in 2005. So, seeing the audience sing the song was a pretty special full-circle moment for her.

As of right now, the episodes airing have all been pre-taped, so viewers haven’t seen any live performances just yet. But we do have a general idea of when the live shows will begin.
Not long ago, the ABC series released its upcoming schedule so fans can plan ahead and know when to tune in. Below are the dates for those episodes:
- February 23 – Episode 5, “Hollywood Week In Music City – Part 1”
- March 2 – Episode 6, “Hollywood Week In Music City – Part 2”
