Storage Wars Star Darrell Sheets Dies At 67
On April 22, Darrell Sheets, best known for his starring role on the hit television show Storage Wars, died at 67.
According to the Lake Havasu City Police Department, officers responded to a report of a deceased individual around 2 a.m. When they arrived, they found Sheets dead at the scene.
“Upon arrival, officers located a male subject who suffered from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head,” according to the report. “The male was pronounced deceased on scene, and the Lake Havasu City Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit was notified and responded to the scene to assume the investigation.”
Sheets became a fan favorite on Storage Wars thanks to his bold bidding style, which earned him the nickname “The Gambler.” Over the years, he gained recognition for taking big risks on storage units, sometimes uncovering valuable and surprising items.
Rene Nezhoda, Sheets’ co-star on Storage Wars, shared a video responding to his death.
Nezhoda addressed the truth about their relationship, due to the fact that they were portrayed as enemies on the show. Although he admitted they “had [their] run-ins” while competing, they were truly friends.
“So deep down, me and Darrell were friends, we talked every now and then,” Nezhoda said. “He was a very hard worker that cared more than anyone I’ve probably ever met about their family, about his son, about [his granddaughter] Zoe, pretty much [all of the] people in his life.”
Nezhoda also claims that Sheets had been dealing with a cyberbully before his death, and that person was “really, really tormenting” him.
Darrell Sheets’ Former Co-Stars Offer To Help Cover Funeral Expenses
According to US Weekly, Sheets’ co-stars may now be stepping up in an incredible way and helping with the costs of his funeral expenses.
“[Darrell’s family] might just do something small and quaint and easy for them. I know that we would all chip in and help and try to make it right for them if they had anything else in mind that they would want to do,” Dan Dotson, one of the show’s former stars, told the outlet.
According to the former television personality, him and Nezhoda would be willing to offer what they can to support the family during this time.
