Cody Johnson Headlined A Record-Breaking Crowd At RodeoHouston
Cody Johnson returned to his home state of Texas to headline RodeoHouston on March 22nd. He teased his appearance the day before with an Instagram post, writing, “Dear Rodeo…see you TOMORROW!”

His show ended up shattering the RodeoHouston “all-time concert-only” attendance record with 80,203 guests in attendance for his show. George Strait set this record a few years ago, and it’s only fitting that another Texan take over.

Johnson played for nearly two hours, performing all his biggest hits and even bringing out some surprise guests, including Carín León to perform their duet “She Hurts Like Tequila.”
Cody Also Surprised The Audience With Carrie Underwood
Carín León wasn’t the only surprise guest that Cody had planned for the record-setting crowd. He also brought out Carrie Underwood! The crowd went absolutely nuts when he brought her out. Unlike with León, his guest needed no introduction.
In fact, he just began singing “I’m Gonna Love You,” his hit duet with Carrie Underwood, solo. But as he kept singing, fans were on the edge of their seats to see if he would just be singing Carrie’s parts or if the “Before He Cheats” singer would walk on stage.
As you can hear in the TikTok video below, a fan spotted her walking out and shrieked, “Oh my God! Ahhhh!”
Finally, the entire stadium saw (and heard) Underwood and went absolutely wild! She was about 4 lyrics in before it got quiet enough to actually hear her sing!
