Taylor Red Singer Nicole Taylor Dies at 35 After Brave Battle With Breast Cancer
Country music is mourning the loss of Nicole Taylor, a member of the country music trio Taylor Red, who has died at the age of 35 following a difficult battle with breast cancer.
The heartbreaking news was announced by her identical triplet sisters and bandmates, Nika and Natalie Taylor, on November 2. Nicole passed away on September 28, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee.
In an emotional message, her sisters remembered Nicole as much more than a bandmate. She was their leader, closest friend, and an important part of their lives.
“Nicole, the oldest of us three sisters, will be greatly missed. She was our leader and our best friend. We are heartbroken, but we know she is in Heaven and will see her again,” they shared.
Nicole Taylor’s Battle With Breast Cancer
Nicole was diagnosed with aggressive Stage 3 breast cancer in 2022.
According to her sisters, the diagnosis came as a devastating shock. However, Nicole faced the difficult journey with remarkable determination and faith.
Natalie and Nika explained that Nicole continued living her life without allowing fear to control her. She even continued doing CrossFit while undergoing chemotherapy.
Initially, Nicole responded well to treatment and was declared to have no evidence of disease.
Sadly, the cancer later returned and progressed to Stage 4.
Her sisters revealed that doctors eventually gave Nicole a prognosis of approximately three months. However, she continued fighting and lived for around another year after receiving that news.
Throughout the journey, Nicole remained hopeful and continued encouraging the people around her.
Her Sisters Share an Emotional Tribute
In a video shared with fans, Nika and Natalie opened up about losing their sister.
They explained that they had once imagined making a very different announcement. They hoped Nicole would be sitting beside them, sharing the story of her recovery.
Instead, they found themselves telling the world that she was gone.
The sisters also shared a recording of Nicole discussing her Christian faith and the strength it gave her throughout her illness.
They expressed gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and everyone who supported Nicole during her treatment.
Her sisters also said that Nicole had found peace before her passing and that they were thankful she was no longer suffering.
From Red Roots to Taylor Red
Nicole, Nika, and Natalie began making music together in 2010 under the name Red Roots.
The three sisters built their identity around their close harmonies, country sound, and musical talents. They later changed the group’s name to Taylor Red in 2018.
Over the years, they developed a dedicated audience through their music, performances, and entertaining online videos.
Their musical journey included songs such as “Country Money” and “Rent Free.” They also became known for their ability to perform together using instruments including the banjo, fiddle, guitar, and mandolin.
Nicole’s contribution was an important part of the group’s identity and the special bond the three sisters shared on and off stage.
A Legacy Her Sisters Will Never Forget
Nicole’s death leaves a heartbreaking loss for her family, friends, bandmates, and fans.
Her sisters have made it clear that she will always be remembered as their fearless leader and best friend.
Although her life ended far too soon, Nicole leaves behind memories, music, and a story of faith and determination that touched many people.
