Cody Johnson Forced to Cancel Final Shows of 2026 Tour Due to Viral Infection
Country music star Cody Johnson has been forced to cancel the final two concerts of his 2026 tour after being diagnosed with a viral infection.
The singer announced the disappointing news on Wednesday, November 4, explaining that he had been advised by his doctor not to perform.
Johnson was scheduled to perform in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on November 4, followed by a concert in Dublin, Ireland, on November 5. Both shows have now been canceled.
Cody Johnson Shares Health Update With Fans
Johnson shared the news through a statement on social media. He explained that he had done everything possible to keep the concerts on schedule.
However, after visiting a doctor, he received a diagnosis that made performing impossible.
“I have been doing all I can to make these shows happen but after just seeing a doctor and on their advice, I have been diagnosed with a viral infection and advised not to perform,” Johnson wrote.
The country singer also apologized to fans for the late announcement and any inconvenience caused by the cancellations.
He explained that he had genuinely hoped to perform and did not want to disappoint those who had been waiting for the Irish shows.
Parker McCollum and Emily Ann Roberts Were Also Scheduled to Perform
The Belfast and Dublin concerts were set to feature Parker McCollum and Emily Ann Roberts as supporting acts.
All three artists were already in the United Kingdom when the cancellation decision was made. They had recently completed performances in London, Birmingham, and Glasgow.
Emily Ann Roberts also shared a message wishing Johnson a speedy recovery.
“Praying for you, Cody Johnson, and hoping for a speedy recovery. Belfast/Dublin, I hope my band and I get to see you again real soon,” she wrote.
Cody Johnson Promises to Return to Ireland
Johnson expressed how disappointed he was to miss the two concerts, especially because he had been looking forward to performing for his Irish fans.
He also promised to do everything possible to return to Ireland and make up for the canceled performances.
“I am extremely disappointed not to be able to play as I have been looking forward to the Irish shows for a long time. I will do all I can to come back to Ireland as soon as I can and play these shows for you all,” he said.
Fans who purchased tickets for the Belfast and Dublin concerts will receive automatic refunds through their original point of purchase.
The canceled performances were scheduled to be the final shows of Johnson’s 2026 tour. His next listed tour dates begin in February 2027.
We wish Cody Johnson a full and speedy recovery.
