‘The Voice’ Introduces Major New Twist With ‘Cut Week’ – Fans Will Have a Say in Who Advances
Fans of The Voice are about to witness one of the biggest changes in the show’s history. Season 30 is replacing its traditional Knockout and Playoff rounds with a brand-new stage called “Cut Week.”
The special two-hour episode will air on Monday, November 2, at 9 p.m. ET on NBC. It will determine which contestants move forward to the Live Shows, which begin November 9.
This season features four coaches: Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, Queen Latifah, and country music star Riley Green.
Following the Battles, each coach has seven artists remaining on their team, leaving 28 contestants in the competition.
During Cut Week, each coach will select two artists to advance directly to the Live Shows. The remaining five contestants on each team will then compete for one final spot.
But there is another twist. After the coaches select their finalists, viewers will get the opportunity to vote for one additional contestant from any team. The artist receiving the most votes will earn the final place in the Top 13.
That means 28 artists will enter Cut Week, but only 13 will advance.
The new format also changes the show’s schedule. The Voice will now air only on Monday nights, with episodes moving to 9 p.m. ET. The Live Shows will feature six weeks of performances, leading up to the season finale on December 14.
For fans, the changes mean higher stakes, tougher decisions, and an opportunity to help decide which singers continue their journey toward becoming the next winner of The Voice.
