In February 2021, the professional golfer was seriously injured in a single-car crash in Southern California, when his vehicle rolled multiple times and left him trapped inside.
Woods underwent emergency surgery to repair “open fractures” in his lower right leg, including the insertion of a rod in his tibia and screws and pins in his foot and ankle. He later had at least one additional surgery in April 2023 related to injuries sustained in that crash.
