Report Claims That Beyoncé Is Struggling To Sell Out Her ‘Cowboy Carter Tour’

Beyonce’s “Cowboy Carter Era” has been a long and winding road to say the least.
Beyoncé released Cowboy Carter, her alleged “country” album (that she clarified “wasn’t a country album”) back in March of 2024. It was certainly a cultural moment, and successful out of the gate, but it really lacked the staying power on the Billboard charts that you would expect from someone as big as Beyoncé . And then, after it failed to be nominated at many of last year’s country music award shows, it seemed like the “country era” of Queen Bey was all but over with.
Some might have even called it a flash in the pan…

However, Beyoncé then scored plenty of Grammy nominations for the project, totaling 11 different nominations including “Best Country Album” and “Album of the Year.” The 43-year-old artist ended up taking home both of those awards and one other, bringing Beyoncé’s total Grammy Awards won up to 35 – the most of any artist in history.

Not long after her big night at the Grammys, Beyoncé officially announced her Cowboy Carter Tour. And many thought the tour would sell out instantly, much like her 2023 Renaissance Tour did. However, Beyonce has failed to sell out any of her stadium shows in the two weeks since tickets went on sale, and for someone as famous and popular as the “Queen Bey,” that’s surprising.

Why are the tickets not selling like they used to for Beyoncé? Well, there were rumors that spread across the internet that initially placed the blame on Ticketmaster’s website crashing due to the influx of demand for tickets. Ticketmaster denied those rumors, and even released a statement clarifying that there was no website crash as a result of Beyoncé’s tickets going on sale. Some even believe that the pop-star’s PR team floated those rumors out there themselves.

Another factor playing in the low ticket sales has to be the high ticket prices. Fans that were able to get through the maze that can be buying tickets online were stunned when they got to the end of the process and saw that their Cowboy Carter Tour tickets were going to cost them $800 to $900 a piece. Even standing tickets reportedly skyrocketed to almost $300 when the tour first started selling tickets.
And if that doesn’t explain it enough, it’s become rather apparent that there were even some Beyoncé fans that didn’t necessarily love her Cowboy Carter album. Though some supported the 43-year-old singer anyway, others wished that Beyoncé would have stuck with something that’s more of her traditional sound and style. Pair that with “Stadium Tour Fatigue” thanks to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour and you’ve got a real nasty, low-ticket-sale-inducing storm brewing.

The London Times have reported that the international leg of the Cowboy Carter Tour is the run that’s struggling to sell tickets the most. They even cited that Ticketmaster had braced itself for an onslaught of ticket ordering when the tour’s tickets were set to go up for sale… and that the expected drove of “Beyhive” faithful never came. The Times also reported that fans likely saw Beyoncé two years ago on her Renaissance Tour, and not enough time has passed to warrant spending hundreds of dollars on another ticket to hear the artist’s version of “country music.”

That being said, other reports from promoter Live Nation are suggesting that Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour is at 94% capacity across all venues, and that demand forced Beyoncé to add additional dates throughout the tour. All in all, Beyonce is projected to bring in earnings over $325 million thanks to her upcoming tour, but it’ll be interesting to see if the fans actually flock to the stadiums to see her as they’ve historically done.
