Morgan Freeman, 87, Makes Rare Appearance as He Steps Out for Dinner at Giorgio Baldi in Los Angeles

Morgan Freeman is enjoying a night out!

The 87-year-old actor marked a rare appearance on Sunday, Nov. 24, stepping out for a dinner engagement with loved ones in Los Angeles.

Freeman wore a checkered button-up shirt, dark slacks and a baseball cap as he was snapped outside the celebrity-loved Italian eatery Giorgio Baldi in the city’s Santa Monica neighborhood.

The Academy Award winner also wore a cream-colored compression glove, which he has been open about using as a result of nerve damage he sustained in a 2008 car accident.

“It’s the fibromyalgia,” Freeman told Esquire during an interview published in July 2012. “Up and down the arm. That’s where it gets so bad. Excruciating.”

Morgan Freeman was spotted dining at the luxurious Giorgio Baldi restaurant in Santa Monica, sporting a casual and elegant look during his night out.

Despite his limited public appearances, Freeman continues to act frequently, having appeared in two movies in 2024: My Dead Friend Zoe and Gunner.

The actor will also appear next year in Now You See Me 3, as part of a star-studded cast that also includes Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Ariana Greenblatt, Lizzy Caplan, Isla Fisher, Rosamund Pike, Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa and Dave Franco.

While Lionsgate hasn’t confirmed the official plotline for Now You See Me 3, the second film ended with a major reveal about the leader of the Eye, so it’s likely that the third film could pick up after that and showcase how the Four Horsemen (Eisenberg, 41, Harrelson, 63, Fisher, 48, and Franco, 39) have been dealing with their new roles in the secret society.

Filming for Now You See Me 3 ended on Nov. 18, with a caption on the movies’ official Instagram account reading, “Your eyes don’t deceive you. That’s a wrap on the next installment of #NowYouSeeMe — coming to theaters November 14, 2025. 🪄.”

Meanwhile, Freeman recently hung out with fellow screen legend Clint Eastwood in California, as he presented his friend with an award at the 2024 Monterey Jazz Festival at the end of September.

Freeman and his producing partner Lori McCreary shared a photo to Instagram of the actors posing together on Oct. 14, alongside which Freeman wrote, “It was a great pleasure presenting my friend, Clint Eastwood, with the inaugural Clint Eastwood Award for Cultural Leadership at the @MontereyJazzFestival last weekend.”

“Clint is a true musician: pianist, composer and a jazz aficionado!” he continued in the caption. “We had a wonderful time listening to the incredible music of Kyle Eastwood and Mavis Staples!”

Freeman and Eastwood, 94, go back a long way; the pair costarred in Eastwood’s 1992 Western Unforgiven, and they reunited again on screen in Eastwood’s 2004 boxing drama Million Dollar Baby. Eastwood directed Freeman once more in 2009’s Invictus, in which Freeman portrayed the late South African president Nelson Mandela.
