Carmelo Anthony Elected to Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2025

Basketball legend Carmelo Anthony has been officially elected to the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2025, sources tell NBA insider Shams Charania.

Anthony, a 10-time NBA All-Star and one of the most prolific scorers in league history, receives the sport’s highest honor after an illustrious career spanning nearly two decades. A three-time Olympic gold medalist and NCAA champion with Syracuse, Anthony left an indelible mark on the game with his elite scoring ability and leadership.

Drafted third overall in the 2003 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets, Anthony quickly established himself as one of the league’s top offensive threats. He played for several teams throughout his 19-year NBA career, including the Nuggets, New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers, and Los Angeles Lakers.

Anthony ranks ninth on the NBA’s all-time scoring list with 28,289 career points and was known for his signature mid-range jump shot, footwork, and clutch performances. His best statistical season came in 2012-13 with the Knicks, when he led the league in scoring with 28.7 points per game, earning the NBA scoring title.

Beyond the NBA, Anthony was a dominant force in international basketball, winning three Olympic gold medals (2008, 2012, 2016) and becoming Team USA’s all-time leading scorer in Olympic history.

His election to the Hall of Fame cements his legacy as one of the game’s all-time greats, with the official induction ceremony set to take place later this year in Springfield, Massachusetts.
