Reba McEntire has dropped another new song, a heartbreak anthem called “Hurt Like That.”
In honor of 50 years in country music, Reba announced she will celebrate with a new series of monthly digital music capsules, released through her label MCA.
That means fans will get a new song each time, along with a set of her biggest hits that fit the same theme. Each release is meant to be an easy way to enjoy both new music and some of her best-known songs.
She kicked off the new series back in April with a track called “One Night in Tulsa.” The rest of the installment included “Tulsa Time” (1995), “Oklahoma Swing” (1989), “Does the Wind Still Blow in Oklahoma” (2007), and “No U in Oklahoma” (2019).
And now, she has released the second capsule in her new music series, and this one is a collection of songs that will hit fans right in the heart.
She dropped her new EP “Hurt Like That” on Friday, May 22, along with a set of some of her most heartbreaking songs from across her catalog.
The release includes classics like “Somebody Should Leave” (1984), “For My Broken Heart” (1991), “What Am I Gonna Do About You” (1986), and “The Clown” (2019).

Lyrics from Reba’s new song “Hurt Like That” go as follows:
“It’s a cold, cold rain / It’s a bitter kind of pain / It’ll leave a stain on your past / It’ll haunt your sleep / It’ll cut you bone deep / And it’ll shatter you like glass / I never felt nothin’ that hurt like that / I never felt nothin’ that hurt like that
Reba Shares Details Of What She Wants Her Upcoming Wedding To Look Like
Reba may be singing about doomed relationships in her songs, but in real life, she’s happier than ever with her fiancé Rex Linn.
The two have been engaged since Christmas Eve 2024. However, Reba and Rex won’t be walking down the aisle anytime soon.
They’ve made it very clear that they would rather focus on their careers right now. But still, they seem completely happy with that decision.
“We’re totally enjoying being engaged,” Reba told PEOPLE in November. “Work comes first, so we’ll see.”
There may be no rush to plan their wedding, but Reba already has an idea of what she wants the big day to look like. She recently told ExtraTV that she’d love to have all of her barnyard animals surrounding them when the time finally comes.
“I have two granddogs, Watson and Belle, so they may be the ring bearers or something like that, but we have to have our animals there,” Reba said. “We’ve got longhorns and donkeys, horses and everything there at the place, cats, and we just, we have a lot of fun with them.”
