Riley Green Mentioned Ella Langley on The Voice
Riley Green is currently serving as a coach on Season 30 of The Voice. During the Blind Auditions, he was trying to convince sister duo Ferryn and Brinkley Wright to join his team.
While talking to the sisters, Green brought up Ella Langley as an example of an artist he had taken on tour.
“There was a girl that reminded me a lot of y’all. I took her on tour. Her name’s Ella Langley. She’s doing pretty well!”
Although Green did not directly say that he was responsible for Langley’s success, some fans interpreted the comment as him taking credit for her rise in country music.
Langley was previously an opening act on Green’s tour before the two became major collaborators.
Ella Langley Responds
The situation took another turn when a fan asked Langley about Green’s comment during an Instagram Live.
The fan specifically asked whether it bothered her that Riley Green appeared to take credit for her success.
Langley did not hold back.
“Yeah, when that man took credit, no, didn’t love that. But typical. Typical. Pretty typical.”
Her response quickly caught the attention of country music fans.
Some fans supported Langley and felt that her success should not be attributed to anyone else. Others defended Green, arguing that he was simply telling the contestants about an artist he had previously taken on tour.
Riley Green And Ella Langley Have A Complicated History
The reaction is especially interesting because Green and Langley have enjoyed major success together.
Their 2024 duet, “You Look Like You Love Me,” became a major country hit and reached No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. The song also earned major awards and helped push Langley further into the spotlight.
The two later reunited for “Don’t Mind If I Do,” another successful collaboration.
Despite their professional success together, their relationship has frequently attracted attention from fans.
For now, Green has not publicly responded to Langley’s latest comments.
Whether the two country stars simply had a misunderstanding or whether there is more tension behind the scenes remains unclear. But Langley’s response has certainly given fans something to talk about.
What do you think? Was Riley Green simply telling a story on The Voice, or did he cross a line by making it sound like he helped create Ella Langley’s success?
