Morgan Wallen Fans Furious After He Receives No Solo Nominations at 2026 CMA Awards
Morgan Wallen remains one of the biggest names in country music, but the 2026 CMA Awards nominations have left many of his fans frustrated.
When the nominees were announced on September 10, Wallen’s name was missing from every major individual category. He was not nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year or any other solo category.
Instead, Wallen received recognition only through collaborations.
Morgan Wallen Has No Solo CMA Nominations
The CMA announced the nominees for the 60th annual CMA Awards on Thursday.
Ella Langley led all artists with nine nominations. Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves and several other major names also received multiple nominations.
But Morgan Wallen was noticeably absent.
The singer was not included among the five nominees for Entertainer of the Year. That category includes Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton, Ella Langley and Lainey Wilson.
Wallen was also left out of Male Vocalist of the Year.
The nominees in that category are Luke Combs, Cody Johnson, Chris Stapleton, Zach Top and Stephen Wilson Jr.
Wallen Is Still Represented Through Collaborations
Although Wallen did not receive a solo nomination, his name does appear twice in the Musical Event of the Year category.
He is nominated alongside Ella Langley for “I Can’t Love You Anymore.”
He is also nominated alongside HARDY, Eric Church and Tim McGraw for “McArthur.”
That means Wallen is still part of the 2026 CMA ballot, but fans will not see his name attached to an individual category.
Fans React With Frustration
The lack of solo nominations quickly sparked strong reactions among Wallen’s supporters online.
Some fans questioned how one of the biggest commercial forces in country music could be left out of the major individual categories.
Others argued that Wallen’s success is already reflected in his streaming numbers, album sales and stadium tours, rather than award nominations.
One discussion among Wallen fans described the situation as another example of the CMA failing to recognize his dominance in the genre.
Some supporters said they would not watch the awards show because Wallen was not nominated for Entertainer of the Year.
Others took a different view and said Wallen does not need another award nomination to prove his popularity.
A Familiar CMA Debate
This is not the first time Wallen’s relationship with major country music awards has created debate.
At the 2024 CMA Awards, Wallen won Entertainer of the Year. He was not at the ceremony to accept the award.
In 2025, he received three CMA nominations: Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year for I’m The Problem.
This year, however, the situation is very different.
Wallen has no solo CMA nomination at all.
Whether fans see the decision as a major snub or simply a reflection of the CMA voting process, his absence from the major categories is already one of the biggest talking points surrounding this year’s nominations.
The 60th Annual CMA Awards will take place on November 18, 2026, at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Lainey Wilson will host the ceremony, which will air live on ABC and Disney+.
