Dolly Parton and her family are grieving the loss of her brother, Coy “Denver” Parton.
Denver Parton died on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the age of 82.
According to an obituary posted by Atchley Funeral Home, Parton lived in Sevierville, Tennessee, at the time of his death. He was a homestead farmer, avid hunter, and a crane operator, the post revealed.

Denver was the third child of twelve born to Robert and Avie Lee. He chose to stay out of the spotlight as his little sister, Dolly, rose to fame. Several of their siblings followed in Dolly’s footsteps, but Denver preferred a private life.
Denver’s death comes less than two years after the passing of his older brother, David, who died in November 2024 at the age of 82.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Parton; father, Robert Lee Parton; mother, Avie Lee Owens Parton; infant brother, Larry Parton; younger brothers, Randy and Floyd Parton; niece, Tever Parton, daughter of Randy Parton; brothers-in-law, Carl Dean (husband of Dolly) and Ray Buzzeo (husband of Willadeene).
Surviving Parton siblings include Willadeene (86), Dolly (80), Robert Lee “Bobby” Jr. (78), Stella (77), Cassie (75), Frieda (69), and Rachel (66).
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Parton family.
