Grand Ole Opry member Clint Black has been forced to cancel an upcoming concert due to a medical emergency.
The “Killin’ Time” singer was scheduled to perform at the Pearl River Resort Casino in Choctaw, Mississippi, on Friday, July 3rd. In an official statement shared across his social media pages on Wednesday, July 1st, Clint’s team announced that the show has been canceled due to a medical emergency.
The statement revealed that the 64-year-old was admitted to the hospital three days prior, on June 28th, for a severe infection of the tonsils. His condition required emergency intravenous antibiotic treatment.
Clint is currently on the road for his Back on the Blacktop Tour, with his next scheduled shows on July 9-11th in Nevada and California. At this time, it is unclear whether or not those shows will take place.
Clint Black Expected To Recover And Return To The Stage
While Clint Black remains hospitalized, his team shared that he is “on the mend” and is expected to recover fully. They are optimistic that he will be discharged from the hospital later this week.
The musician and his management team expressed their sincere apologies for the inconvenience that the show cancellation may cause for fans. Ticket holders will receive a refund to their original point of purchase.
