This Father’s Day was a difficult one for Samantha Busch and her children. Not only was it their first Father’s Day without Kyle, but it was the one-month anniversary of his death.
Samantha and Kyle Busch share two kids, Brexton and Lennix. The children and Kyle all celebrated their birthdays in May, with Brexton turning 11, Lennix turning 4, and Kyle turning 41.
Sadly, Kyle passed away later that month, on May 21st, after developing pneumonia that progressed into sepsis.
Samantha Busch has since shared a series of tributes to Kyle on social media. One of her most emotional posts came on Father’s Day, when she shared a video showcasing some of the sweet memories Kyle made with their kids over the years.
“This still doesn’t feel real at all,” Samantha wrote. “I was up all night thinking about what today should have looked like for Kyle and the kids. The Father’s Day cards that were already made, sitting in a drawer with no one to give them to. Trying to figure out how to navigate a day that should be filled with so much joy for them.”
Although he was a highly accomplished NASCAR driver, Samantha says nothing in the world made Kyle more proud than being Brexton and Lennix’s dad.
Because Kyle was such a present and loving father, Samantha and the kids feel his absence deeply. As she wrote:
“Kyle, the kids and I miss you every second of every day. Our hearts ache for you, but it’s more than that. Your absence is something we physically feel. Our bodies hurt from missing you, from reaching for someone who isn’t there, from loving someone we can’t hold anymore.”
In a vow to her late husband, Samantha wrote, “I will keep telling your stories, sharing your laughs, and making sure Brexton and Lennix always know just how deeply they were loved by their dad.”

Samantha Busch Shares Beautiful “Signs” She Received From Kyle After His Death
In the midst of her unimaginable grief, Samantha Busch has witnessed some remarkable things that she believes are “signs” from her late husband, Kyle.
NASCAR champion Kyle Busch died on May 21st at the age of 41. His death certificate revealed that his death was caused by pneumonia that eventually progressed into a case of sepsis.
Kyle’s survivors include Samantha, whom he married on New Year’s Eve in 2010, and their two children, Brexton and Lennix.
At the Coca-Cola 600 on May 24th, NASCAR CEO Steve O’Donnell led a tribute to Kyle Busch. Samantha, Brexton, and Lennix stood next to O’Donnell as he proclaimed they would be “NASCAR family forever.”
Samantha has since shared a couple of posts on social media thanking people for their support during this devastating time. She also revealed the promise she made to Kyle before he died, which was, “I would do everything I could to help our children pursue their dreams no matter what.”
More recently, on June 16th, Samantha Busch shared an emotional post about two beautiful “signs” that she received from Kyle after his passing.
Her post opened with a photo of a pair of sandals on a bathroom floor, with a vibrant rainbow lying over them. On the next slide, Samantha explained that those were Kyle’s sandals, which he left in that spot a few days before he died, following their son Brexton’s birthday party.
Samantha hasn’t had the heart to move the shoes since Kyle died. One morning, after being up all night crying, she walked into the bathroom and saw the rainbow over his sandals.
“I literally laid down on them and felt a bit of peace, like he was giving me a sign,” she wrote.
Samantha acknowledged that she knew why that happened “scientifically,” as the sunlight shone through the bathroom chandelier, creating a rainbow on the ground.
Still, Samantha said that in their 10 years of living in that house, she had never seen the chandelier make a rainbow like that. It was something she truly couldn’t explain…
Samantha Busch Shares The Second “Sign” That Came From Kyle After His Death
Samantha Busch received a second sign from Kyle at church. Kyle’s memorial service had just been held in the same church a few days prior, on June 2nd.
While sitting in church, Samantha noticed that a bird was flying around. “At one point, it flew over to where I was sitting, tilted its head sideways, looked right at me, and then flew away,” she said.
Later, the bird was next to Samantha’s feet, chirping and hopping around while the congregation prayed. She noted how this was the first time a bird had ever been in their church.
“Standing in the same church where we said goodbye to Kyle a few days earlier, and carrying a grief that still doesn’t feel real most days, it felt like more than a coincidence to me,” Samantha wrote.
She continued, “It feels like God is reminding me that I am not alone, and that Kyle is letting me know that he’s okay, that he’s close, and that somehow he’s still walking beside us.”
