Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo’s divorce is moving into its next phase.
New court documents reveal that the country singer and podcast host officially separated on May 9, with Jelly Roll filing for divorce just over a week later on May 18.
The filing cites “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split and offers new insight into how the couple plans to move forward as they end their nearly 10-year marriage.

What Happens to Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo’s Assets?
According to the filing, Jelly Roll anticipates that he and Bunnie Xo will enter into a Marital Dissolution Agreement that divides their assets and debts.
The documents ask the court to approve any agreement the couple reaches following Tennessee’s required waiting period.
While the filing does not specify how property, finances or other assets will ultimately be divided, it suggests both parties expect to negotiate a settlement rather than engage in a lengthy legal battle.
The Couple Separated in May
The documents list May 9 as the couple’s official date of separation.
Jelly Roll, whose legal name is Jason DeFord, and Bunnie Xo, whose legal name is Alisa DeFord, married in August 2016 after first meeting the year before.
The divorce filing came just months before what would have been the couple’s 10th wedding anniversary.
They renewed their vows in Las Vegas in 2023 and have often spoken publicly about the highs and lows they experienced throughout their relationship.
Signs of Change
The latest court filing comes amid reports that movers were recently spotted outside the couple’s Tennessee home.
Photos obtained by TMZ showed workers loading items into a moving truck parked at the property, though it remains unclear whose belongings were being moved.
Sources close to the couple have also suggested the split was not the result of a single event.
A source recently told People that Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo “still love each other” but had grown apart when it came to what they wanted for the future.
“There wasn’t a moment where everything fell apart,” the insider explained. “People saw the public side of things, but there was a lot more going on privately.”
As of this writing, neither Jelly Roll nor Bunnie Xo has publicly commented on the divorce filing.
