Brad Paisley Voices Concerns Over Propsed Data Center
Country star Brad Paisley is joining the growing opposition to a proposed data center planned near the Nashville Zoo.
Paisley took to social media to vocalize his concerns, saying the project was an “absolute nightmare scenario” for the area.
Details Behind The Proposed Project
The proposed data center near the Nashville Zoo has become a major point of controversy for residents in and around the city.
The center is expected to be built on property adjacent to its parking lot in South Nashville. Zoo officials say they are concerned about potential impacts on animal welfare. In a petition posted on Change.org, Nashville Zoo officials argue that a proposed 69,220-square-foot data center, they warn that the noise, lighting, power infrastructure, and other environmental impacts could affect more than 3,000 animals housed at the facility.
“As a conservation and sustainability-focused organization, we are working with community partners to learn what we can do to protect the Zoo’s property, animals and our surrounding neighborhoods,” a spokesperson from the Nashville Zoo said.
Local residents have also raised concerns about the project’s electricity and water demands, as well as possible noise pollution and effects on nearby neighborhoods. The proposal is one of two data center projects currently under consideration in the Nashville area.
