Morgan Wallen’s Foundation Is Giving Underserved Children The Opportunity To Experience Summer Camp
Country superstar Morgan Wallen is giving back in special ways to his community this summer.
The Morgan Wallen Foundation (MWF) is reportedly paying for 35 children in low-income communities to attend camp, free of charge.
Wallen himself donated $15,000 in the form of a grant from his foundation for the children to attend the camp with specialized music and arts instruction this July.
“BIG NEWS! Thanks to a generous $15,000 grant from the Morgan Wallen Foundation, 35 local kids will get to experience the magic of Camp Paradise Valley this summer — completely free of charge!,” The Salvation Army Knoxville shared on social media.
The nonprofit shared that it was more than just a week of camp, but a chance for the young people to build lasting childhood memories.
“They’ll enjoy a week filled with fun, friendship, and specialized music & arts education, all while building confidence and lifelong memories. We’re beyond grateful to the Morgan Wallen Foundation for investing in the future of our youth here in East Tennessee.”
Major Cameron Henderson, Area Commander of The Salvation Army Knoxville Area Command, says they are “incredibly grateful” to the foundation for supporting children in the area.
“We are incredibly grateful to the Morgan Wallen Foundation for investing in the lives of young people in our region. For many of these children, this will be their first time attending camp and exploring music and the arts in such a hands-on way. It’s more than a week away—it’s a chance to discover their talents, build confidence, and just be kids.”
The Morgan Wallen Foundation & Its Dedication To Children
According to its website, the Morgan Wallen Foundation aims to support children through different sports and music programs.
Because both things were incredibly instrumental in Wallen’s youth, he wanted to find a way to give back in a similar manner.
“Access to sports and music transformed and enriched Morgan Wallen’s life in ways he never could have imagined growing up as a kid in East Tennessee,” the website states. “Playing sports instilled in him the values and benefits of discipline, hard work and commitment. Exposure to music at a young age has led him to become the country artist he is today.”
The MWF also dedicates itself to being there during times of need.
“Whether it’s providing supplies in the wake of natural disasters, meals for first responders, distributing groceries to food insecure families, we are here to help,” the website explains.
In September of 2024, the Morgan Wallen Foundation donated $140,000 to the “Gibbs Youth Sports,” a local East Tennessee program, to renovate one of their sports parks.
Ahead of the country singer’s hometown Knoxville shows, Wallen’s mother, Lesli, presented a check to Gibbs Youth Sports President Nate Stachey and Baseball Commissioner William Lynam to support the Gibbs Ruritan Park’s renovation efforts.
“We’ve been giving back to communities all over the country, and the world…but there is none more important than this one, and I hope this opportunity helps create the ability for more kids to play sports in my hometown for years to come,” Wallen said at the time.
The donation reportedly helped the program overhaul the fields, remodel the field house, update the drainage systems and level the field, install a lighting timer, and give the concession stand a total makeover.
“Being a baseball mom, this is very special to me that my son is able to give back to the community that blessed us so much and that he played sports in,” Lesli said. “Nate sent in an application to our foundation asking for any help – that’s all he asked for. I walk up there sometimes at the Gibbs Youth Sports Ruritan Park and I see how in disrepair the park is. So, we started conversations asking what we can do to make this park a better park – and a special place – for our kids to be proud to go to.”
