Rosie O’Donnell Leaves The United States Because Of President Donald Trump: “Heartbreaking To See What’s Happening Politically”

That’s how you make America great again.

Rosie O’Donnell has long had a bitter feud with President Donald Trump, but it seems like his latest election really broke her brain. Back in December, the former talk show host and actress went on an unhinged rant about Trump being named Time’s Person of the Year, while also giving us her theories on aliens and the New Jersey drones that were dominating the news at the time.

But it looks like she’s finally given up and decided to leave the country.

In a video posted to TikTok, the washed up former host of The View revealed that she moved to Ireland back in January, just a few days before Trump’s inauguration:

“I’m here in Ireland, and it’s beautiful and warm. No, physically it’s actually quite cold.

I moved here on January 15th and it’s been pretty wonderful, I have to say. The people are so loving and so kind, so welcoming, and I’m very grateful.

I’m in the process of getting my citizenship, as I have Irish grandparents, and that’s what’s going on.”

While she says she’s getting her Irish citizenship, she didn’t rule out the possibility of returning to the United States at some point.:

“Although I was never someone who thought I would move to another country, that’s what I decided would be the best for myself and my 12-year old child…

I miss my other kids, I miss my friends, I miss many things about life there at home, and I’m trying to find a home here in this beautiful country. And when it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that’s when we will consider coming back.”

And she also encouraged those who didn’t flee the country to continue to fight, which is rich coming from somebody who ran away instead of doing what she’s telling others to do:

“It’s been heartbreaking to see what’s happening politically, and hard for me personally as well. The personal is political, as we all know…

I encourage everyone to stand up, to use their voice, to protest, to demand that we follow the Constitution in our country, and not a king, not a man. And we don’t have cruelty as part of our governing style.”

Of course for the past few election cycles we’ve heard celebrities claim they were leaving the United States if Trump won, but there haven’t been very many who actually followed through. Ellen DeGeneres moved across the pond after this most recent election, but other than that most of them are happy to stay here and make hating Trump their entire personality while talking about how terrible things are in America.

So in that sense, credit to Rosie for actually putting her money where her big mouth is and following through on her promise to leave the country.

Rosie and Trump have a long history of…well, hating each other, dating all the way back to 2006 when Rosie, then a co-host of The View, criticized Trump for not removing the title of Miss USA from Tara Conner after a scandal involving her drug use.

Rosie took to her show to call Trump a “snake oil salesman,” claim that he’s “not a self-made man,” and bashed him for his multiple marriages, ending her rant with a message for the future president:

“Donald, sit and spin, my friend.”

Trump obviously didn’t take kindly to the remarks, calling Rosie a “real loser” and threatening to sue her for defamation:

“I look forward to taking lots of money from my nice fat little Rosie.”

The two then went back and forth on Twitter for years, with Rosie often drawing criticism and insults from Trump:

And then of course there was the infamous moment during the presidential debate in 2015 when Trump was asked by Megyn Kelly about his comments on women:

So yeah, no real surprise that Rosie isn’t a Trump fan. Maybe she’ll fit in better over there in Ireland anyway.
