Lainey Wilson Shares A Teaser For “Somewhere Over Laredo”
The country singer, who took home four new Academy of Country Music Awards this year, released a short clip on Instagram of her new song, “Somewhere Over Laredo” in May.
Sitting in the middle of an open dirt road with telephone poles in the distance, Wilson, wearing a trucker hat and brown leather jacket, sings a portion of the song that resembles the classic melody of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.”
The ballad’s lyrics reflect on past relationships, and the lingering thoughts of missing shared moments with someone special.
Shortly after, Lainey debuted the song for a live audience during the American Music Awards. She wore an all-white ensemble with a backdrop of a sky full of clouds, making another nod to the classic song “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.”
