House Oversight Committee Seeking Answers On Epstein Scandal
As questions continue to swirl around President Donald Trump and his administration’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, the House of Representatives’ Oversight Committee has filed some significant subpoenas in pursuit of the truth.
On Tuesday, August 5, the House submitted 11 high-profile subpoenas, with former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton being among those who will testify before the committee in October.
These subpoenas are in keeping with the rules the House Oversight Committee abides by, as it has the power “to require, by subpoena or otherwise, the attendance and testimony of such witnesses … and documents as it considers necessary.”
The Committee’s Subpoenas
In total, there were 10 former federal officials subpoenaed by the House Oversight Committee.
The 11th individual subpoenaed is Attorney General Pam Bondi, who has been requested to submit the “full, complete, unredacted Epstein Files” by August 19.
The other 10 subpoenas are as follows:
- Former President Bill Clinton, who served as the 42nd president from 1993 to 2001, has been subpoenaed to appear before the Oversight Committee on October 14.
- Former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton, who served from 2009 to 2013 during the Obama administration, has been subpoenaed to appear before the Oversight Committee on October 9.
- Former AG Alberto Gonzalez, who served from 2005 to 2007 during the Bush administration, has been subpoenaed to appear before the Oversight Committee on August 26.
- Former AG Loretta Lynch, who served from 2015 to 2017 during the Obama administration, has been subpoenaed to appear before the Oversight Committee on September 9.
- Former FBI Director Robert Mueller, who served from 2001 to 2013 during both the Bush and Obama administration, has been subpoenaed to appear before the Oversight Committee on September 2.
- Former AG Bill Barr, who served his second tenure as AG from 2019 to 2021, has been subpoenaed to appear before the Oversight Committee on August 18.
- Former AG Merrick Garland, who served from 2021 to 2025 during the Biden administration, has been subpoenaed to appear before the Oversight Committee on October 2.
- Former AG Jeff Sessions, who served from 2017 to 2018 during the Trump administration, has been subpoenaed to appear before the Oversight Committee on August 28.
- Former FBI Director James Comey, who served from 2013-2017 during the Obama administration, has been subpoenaed to appear before the Oversight Committee on October 7.
- Former AG Eric Holder, who served from 2009 to 2015 during the Obama administration, has been subpoenaed to appear before the Oversight Committee on September 30.
All 10 subpoenas were unanimously voted on by the Subcommittee on Federal Law Enforcement of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.
Notably, the subpoenas for Bill and Hillary Clinton offer lengthy allegations.
Regarding Bill Clinton’s alleged connection with Epstein, the subpoena states:
“By your own admission, you flew on Jeffrey Epstein’s private plane four separate times in 2002 and 2003. During one of these trips, you were even pictured receiving a ‘massage’ from one of Mr. Epstein’s victims. It has also been claimed that you pressured Vanity Fair not to publish sextrafficking allegations against your ‘good friend’ Mr. Epstein, and there are conflicting reports about whether you ever visited Mr. Epstein’s island. You were also allegedly close to Ms. Ghislane Maxwell, an Epstein co-conspirator, and attended an intimate dinner with her in 2014, three years after public reports about her involvement in Mr. Epstein’s abuse of minors.”
Regarding Hillary Clinton’s alleged connection with Epstein, the subpoena states:
“Your family appears to have had a close relationship with both Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirator Ghislaine Maxwell. For example, your husband President William ‘Bill’ Jefferson Clinton, by his own admission, flew on Jeffrey Epstein’s private plane four separate times in 2002 and 2003 on trips for your family’s foundation, the Clinton Foundation … Moreover, your husband was allegedly close to Ms. Maxwell, while Ms. Maxwell’s nephew worked for your 2008 presidential campaign and was hired by the State Department shortly after you became Secretary of State.”

Validity Of The Epstein Client List
Since the death in federal prison of Jeffrey Epstein in 2019, the public has been interested in the truth regarding the well-connected convicted sex offender and his affiliates.
A few weeks ago, on July 7, the United States Justice Department announced that Epstein did not maintain a “client list,” as had been rumored to exist for several years.
This announcement has drawn skepticism, with many in the media pointing to Attorney General Pam Bondi’s statement to Fox News in February about the list, in which she said the list was “on [her] desk.”
Clarifying her comments on July 8, Bondi said:
“‘It’s sitting on my desk to be reviewed,’ meaning the file, along with the JFK, MLK files as well. That’s what I meant by that.”
